Organic Certification

United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)

Organic certification verifies that a farm or handling facility located anywhere in the world complies with the USDA organic regulations and allows you to sell, label and represent your products as organic. These regulations describe the specific standards required for you to use the word “organic” or the USDA organic seal on food, feed, or fibre products. The USDA National Organic Program administers these regulations, with substantial input from its citizen advisory board and the public.

National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP)

The Government of India has implemented the National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP), which involves the accreditation programme for certification bodies, standards for organic production and promotion of organic farming. The NPOP standards for production and accreditation system have been recognised by European Commission and Switzerland for unprocessed plant products as equivalent to their country standards. Similarly, USDA has recognized NPOP conformity assessment procedures of accreditation as equivalent to that of US.
